Are you a business owner looking to amp up marketing efforts?
Look no further than My NewsGirl, a Redding-based marketing firm which specializes in online marketing for small businesses.
My NewsGirl is the brainchild of Cathy Ann Drury, who started the company two years ago after writing newsletters for her husband’s building company. Her husband, she said, was part of a national builders’ organization and some of his colleagues expressed interest in having her write their newsletters as well.
“Two years ago, the timing was right to formulate my own business and begin,” Drury told Patch.
The company focuses primarily on email marketing, Drury said, but also focuses on writing services, graphic design, template creation, social campaigns, event planning and more. It deals with both business-to-business marketing and business-to-consumer marketing.
“Small business owners come to us looking for the tools to create sustained, targeted email marketing campaigns that produce results,” she said. “We provide all levels of service from helping clients get started so they can create campaigns on their own to fully managed accounts.”
Authorized Local Expert
Drury was recently named an Authorized Local Expert by Constant Contact, a company that specializes in marketing in a world increasingly defined by social networks.
“Being an Authorized Local Expert means that I am authorized to offer training seminars on best practices in online marketing in the Fairfield County area,” Drury said, adding she earned the distinction after co-presenting with the regional director of Constant Contact last year.
Drury has a few such seminars planned, including one this afternoon. Upcoming events include:
- Thursday, Sept. 20: Social Media Marketing Made Simple—Webster Bank Arena, Bridgeport, 2 to 3 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 28: Power of Email Marketing & How To Develop Great Content—Ring's End, Stratford, 8 to 10:30 a.m.
- Friday, Oct. 12: Social Media Marketing Made Simple—Microsoft Store at the Danbury Fair Mall, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
"Small business owners who are looking to take their marketing efforts to the next level should attend," Drury said. "Whether you are thinking about starting an email marketing campaign, looking for ways to improve your current campaign or just want to learn about social media for your business, come join us."
Drury, a Redding resident for 10 years, lives with her husband, Todd, and two children Jake and Liam.
