Twain Art Show Kicks Off Next Week
The following is a press release written by Mary Ann Carman.
For nine days in early December, the Mark Twain Library is transformed into a gallery of beautiful art from more than 100 artists. The art show is also one of the library’s annual fundraisers, and offers wonderful, collectible art at accessible prices, all in support of Redding’s public library.
Before the art show opens to library patrons during the day, however, the library undergoes another dramatic transformation — for its preview party. All current “Friends of the Library,” those who have made a donation in the past year, receive invitations to the Art Show Party, scheduled for Friday, Dec. 2, 7 to 10 p.m. It’s not too late to get your invitation, and help get the art show started!
The library always needs more “Friends.” Simply stop by the library, call 938-2545, or visit the website marktwainlibrary.org to get all the details.
Those who attend the gala get to kick-off the art show itself — with a silent auction, get first dibs on a favorite piece of art before regular library hours, and jump-start their holiday season, all with friends and neighbors in a festive, elegant setting.
