Mechanical Bull Bar in SoNo: Johnny Utah's Grand Opening

Johnny Utah’s, a "mechanical bull bar" with a country theme that has restaurants in New York City and Philadelphia, has its SoNo grand opening weekend starting Thursday night at 80 Washington St.

Johnny Utah's, according to an announcement, is a "line-dancin’, shot-pourin’, mechanical bull-ridin’ bar and restaurant [with] a little bit country, a little bit rock ‘n’ roll, and a whole lot of fun."

The Grand Opening Weekend runs Thursday through Saturday. Click here to get into the 8 p.m. "Sneak Peek" party starting 8 p.m. Thursday and get a first drink free (unless the guest list fills up first).

Friday night (spoiler: the "Naked Cowboy" isn't entirely naked)

On Friday, here's what the website says is happening:

"It's the official grand opening!  Join us from 5pm - 7pm for a LIVE broadcast with Dan Hopkins from your favorite country music station, Kicks 105.5. 

"We wouldn't be a country bar without a little line dancing, would we?  Pull on your boots or slip into your heels and join us for line dancing from 8pm - 9pm led by Connecticut's own Alan Kohn.  CLICK HERE TO RSVP for LINE DANCING and to receive your first drink free at 8 p.m.

"And that's not all... meet the man you have been dreaming of... NYC's world famous Naked Cowboy.  Don't forget about our main attraction, the bull!  There is FREE bull riding all night long with our very own rodeo clowns to keep it (even more) interesting."

Saturday night: Ride for a cause

Here's what the website says is in store for Saturday:

"The celebration continues on Saturday with an event lineup that would leave even the most rugged cowboy ready to kick back.  From 7pm - 9pm, help us give back with Rides for a Cause. 

"Bully Breed Rescue will be hosting a fundraiser to raise money for their nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of animals in need.

"This is the time to show off your bull riding skills...every ride is just $5 and it all goes to charity!  Indulge in specialty Bulldog drinks with a portion of the proceeds going to BBR. They will also be selling their infamous BBR gear, so don't miss out!

"At 9 p.m. the party bucks into high gear and won't stop all night.  We are giving away a pair of tickets to the hottest country event of the summer... Country Music Festival.
