League of Women Voters' presents the film Waiting for Superman

The Redding League of Women Voters invites you to attend a showing of  the award-winning documentary Waiting for Superman at the Mark Twain Library on Wednesday, November 16, at 7 p.m. The film analyzes the failures of American education by following five students and their families through the system, each hoping to be selected in a lottery for acceptance into a charter school.  The often heart-breaking stories of their struggles won director Davis Guggenheim the Directors' Guild of America's award for best director of a documentary film.  The evening begins at 7 p.m.  The film, which lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes, will be shown at 7:30 p.m.  There will be popcorn, candy, soda, wine--and time to discuss this thought-provoking movie.

Admission is free; reservations requested.  Sign up at the Library--or call them at 938-2545 to have your name added to the list.  Or you can RSVP to Emily d'Aulaire (emilyd@optonline.net) or call her with questions (938-3612).
