"From there we will play Christmas jazz music," says Coogan. "A major feature of our concert is to take the traditional carols and rearrange them with new jazz sensibilities."

He adds, "We will also perform original Christmas music that I have composed. The special soloist of the evening will be Michele Grace, who is a fine actress and singer."

"Stars and Wind," Coogan's first jazz release since 2001, will be available for purchase during the concert. "Stars and Wind" features a contemporary jazz composition performed by a traditional jazz quintet including strong melody on sax and trumpet. "The music also features cool grooves with the rhythm section," says Coogan.

The CD has been three years in the making. "We've been working on this CD during our spare time, doing a lot of fine-tuning to make sure everything sounds just right" says Coogan. "The end result is really wonderful. It's joyful jazz!"

The Chris Coogan Jazz Quintet is comprised of Coogan on piano, Rex Denton (Madison) on trumpet, Jim Royle (Monroe) on drums, Jim Clark (Norwalk) on sax and John Mobilio(Watertown) on bass.
