Susan Schaller, who writes as Susan E.B. Schwartz, will speak about her book about the man who cured JFK's back.

Have you ever heard of JFK's Secret Doctor?

That would be Hans Kraus, who was the 35th President's confidential back specialist.

Susan Schaller, who writes as Susan E.B. Schwartz, is a Wilton resident, and she'll be on hand to talk about her book, JFK's Secret Doctor, at the Mark Twain Library on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m.

Patch interviewed Schaller in July. She said the book, which took her 10 years to write, needed to be written because Kraus' life was too important to remain untold.

“I felt the message of his life shouldn’t die with him," she said. "Hans had cured so many people, freed so many people of pain, that the story needed to get out there. I was one of them, and I needed to do what I could to give back."
