Redding Resident of the Week: Jordan Wright

Name: Jordan Wright

How long have you lived in Redding?

I moved to Redding when I was 1. I left after high school in 1994 for years and moved back 4 years ago. 

What do you like about your jobs?

I like watching the football players grow both as players and young men.  I like the fact that every day is a little different at the Ridge.

How did you get into the food business?

I worked for my Uncle at the during breaks from college and worked at a restaurant in South Carolina while in college. 

What is the most challenging thing about your work?

The most challenging thing is the long hours, 14 to 15 hours a day, seve days a week.

Signature sandwich or plate?

Our biggest selling sandwich is the Mark Twain which is Buffalo chicken, blue cheese pepperjack and bacon on oven baked Italian bread. 

Most memorable moment as a coach?

My most memorable moment as a coach was a come from behind victory last year at Oxford in a game that we had no business winning. 

What if anything is in store for the deli?

We will soon be adding Lotto, Helium filled balloons, fountain soda, and gift baskets for the holidays. 

How does it feel to run one the areas most popular gathering spots?

I feel honored to be able to continue the tradition that is the Ridge and am glad that I was able to add some seating both indoors and out to make it even more of a gathering place for the people of Redding and Easton.

What is your favorite thing about Redding?

My favorite thing about Redding is the kids.

What is your favorite spot in Redding?

My favorite place is Friday nights under the lights at the football field.
