Are Metro-North Bar Cars Coming Back? Area Commuters Hope So

Train commuters on Metro-North's New Haven line miss the bar cars, according to a report in USA Today.

Less than 10 of the old bar cars, part of the old rail cars from the 1970s, are still in use, and those are expected to be retired later this spring.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is considering new bar cars for the new trains, and has hired a firm to study the feasibility, but department has not committed to the possibility, according to USA Today.
