Witt Elected to Redding Bd. of Education

(Redding, January 10) Eric Witt was elected to the Redding Board of Education in the Board’s regularly scheduled meeting, which was held Thursday night, January 9th in the Community Room at John Read Middle School.

Witt, a Republican, was elected by the six sitting members of the Board to fill the position previously held by Mike D’Agostino who resigned to fill a vacancy on the Region 9 Board of Education, a spot previously held by Leon Karvelis who was elected in November to the Board of Selectmen.

Mr. Witt, 51 years old, is currently employed as Vice President of Strategic Consulting for Tangoe, Inc., a telecommunications consulting business in Orange, CT. He is a graduate of the US Naval Academy, has masters degrees from the Yale School of Management and the U.S Army War College, and a doctorate from Northeastern University in law and public policy, where he graduated first in his class with a dissertation on alternative education delivery methods for the active duty military.

The Afghanistan tour of duty represented the final mission in Witt’s 28-year career as an active and reserve naval officer.
