Redding Solarize Workshop

Redding residents, now is the time to go solar.  Our town is participating in the Connecticut Solarize program and we are planning an information session at Town Hall on Thursday October 3rd from 7:00 – 8:30 PM.

At the session we plan to explain how the program works, how solar works, and detail the various financing options available.  What makes this program especially exciting are the various low cost financing options available.  Up until recently solar was prohibitively expensive and this kept many otherwise interested homeowners away.  But now several different solar loans are available.  The CT Solar Loan is a 15 year non-collateralized low interest rate loan, that should, after a small initial payment, reflect an immediate monthly cost savings over the your current electric bill, and after the 15 years of payments, your electricity is essentially free.

Also available is the Smart-E-Loan, which requires no money down.  Under this loan you decide the re-payment period according to the schedule you chose.

The solar lease is another option. The lease requires no up-front out of pocket cost, and generally the fixed 15 year monthly lease payments are also less than your current electric bill.

The other issue I hear frequently from my neighbors is how do they know their house is well suited for solar?  This is a question easily answered.  The most important criteria is the amount of sun you have on your roof, and after that, size and orientation determines suitability.  All of this can be answered by having a free no-obligation site visit, and this too can be arranged at the meeting at Town Hall on 10/3.

I hope you can join us on October 3rd.  If you are interested but cannot attend, please contact Sunlight Solar at 203-878-9123 to ask questions and/or schedule a site visit.
