Informational Meeting on Weston Construction Project

State Representative John Shaban (R-135) is encouraging Weston residents to attend an upcoming meeting about the proposed replacement of a retaining wall located on Route 53 near the Weston Racquet Club.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) is hosting the gathering to inform residents about the construction of an “L-type” concrete retaining wall in front of the existing metal bin retaining wall that has been determined to be in poor condition. The project, which would begin in summer 2015, would require a road closure and may affect underground utilities.

The meeting will be held Wednesday, February 5th at 7:00pm in the Meeting Room at Weston Town Hall, located at 56 Norfield Road, Weston. DOT personnel will be available at 6:30pm to answer questions prior to the presentation. In the event of severe weather, the snow date is Feb. 19th.

The construction will span approximately two months and cost $1.8 million in state funding.

Residents, business owners, commuters, and other interested individuals are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to learn about and discuss the proposed project.

Anyone who is unable to attend but would like to discuss the project or review the plans may contact Timothy M. Wilson at (860) 594-3189 or timothy.wilson@ct.gov
