Back by demand for the 4th summer, Joel Barlow High School is proud to host Successful Study Skills 4 Students, a highly effective study skills program for area high school students.
S4’s equips students with the study skills needed for academic success. Taught skills, tools and strategies include:
• Manage their time and make schedules
• Take effective notes
• Use a planner and why it's essential
• Read and listen actively
• Determine main ideas & supporting details
• Self-advocate and understand its benefits
• Ask the right questions to enhance understanding
• Set a purpose and a goal for learning
• Use visuals to deepen recall and understanding
• Use summaries to solidify comprehension
• Study & prepare for tests
• Set goals for learning
