Come to the JBHS Car Show Oct. 12!

Gotta cool car or just like admiring them?  Would you like to get an up-close and personal view of a 1913 Harley Davidson Motorcycle?  Want to do all that and help out a worthy cause? Then you won’t want to miss the Joel Barlow High School Car Show to be held on October 12th from 10 – 3pm.

The JBHS Class of 2015 has teamed up with the Mikey’s Way Foundation to bring you a day of fun for a good cause.  The event will include cool cars and motorcycles, live music, food, an awards ceremony for participating cars and door prize drawings every hour!  Trophies will be awarded for Best of Show, Oldest Running Car, Spectator’s Choice, Best Engine, Most Unique, and more.

The Class of 2015 is organizing the car show in an effort to raise money for their class activities and for Mikey’s Way, a foundation close to the Barlow community. In turn, the Mikey’s Way Foundation wants to help the Class of 2015 achieve its funding goals for its Senior Prom next year.

“We are really excited to be bringing the community together for a fun event filled with amazing cars and motorcycles. What better way to enjoy a New England fall day than to admire unique cars and support a local charity?” said Jack Pantalena, class president.

General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. All proceeds will benefit Mikey’s Way and the Class of 2015.

The Mikey’s Way Foundation was created in 2005 by former Barlow student, Michael Friedman, who knew first-hand the negative effects boredom can have on children hospitalized for long periods of time.  Mikey’s Way helps connect every hospitalized child with their friends, family, and school through the use of electronic devices thus enabling them to cope with the long-term treatment for cancer and other life threatening illnesses.
