How long have you lived in Weston?

We bought our house in January 2002 and moved in June 2002 with our 3 kids and one dog. We have since gained two more dogs and had two kids move out to colleges. 

What do you like about your jobs?

I love meeting new people in both jobs and maintaining my relationships. I enjoy helping people and I do that in both jobs. Sometimes I help people in emergency situations and sometimes in one of the biggest decisions of their lives, both monetarily and emotionally.

I like to help them make sure they find just the right property in the right neighborhood for them and when selling I try to make sure they are happy with the outcome and to try to move their property in a timely manner.

How did you get involved with EMS?

Well, one day I was having lunch with my year old daughter and her friend in . The other little girl started choking and we didn't know what to do, so I stood her up on her chair thinking omg how do I do that "Heimlich Maneuver" on a child?!? when she then pulled out a piece of pizza crust, on her own. The next day I saw an ad in the Weston Forum asking for people to sign up to take the EMT class and I thought it was a sign. I have been a member of Weston EMS ever since. 

What is the most challenging part of working with EMS?

Juggling work, family life and volunteering can be daunting, but I love it anyway and have a supportive family that helps out. 

What is the most rewarding part of working with EMS?

Being available to help my friends and neighbors when they need me. I hope I never have to, but I want to be there for them.  

Is there a rescue story you can share with us?

I wish I could, but because of patient confidentiality rules, I cannot discuss any incidents. Receiving thank you notes and donations to EMS is always validating to all of us. 

How can people get involved with EMS and why?

If you want to take the next class, we are holding one in January and you can get more information on our website. We are looking for more people to join our squad. 

In regard to realty, what is your sense of the market is it getting better or is it still in decline?

Our Real Estate market is in a difficult state right now, but there are some wonderful opportunities right now for buyers with good credit.  If you have a property to sell and you price it well, properties are moving as there are qualified buyers out there. I think that the market has stabilized after the last few years of a declining market.  I have been fortunate and have had a lot of success in this difficult market, as have my colleagues at Camelot Real Estate. 

Favorite thing about Weston?

The people of Weston, as they come from all different backgrounds and socioeconomic levels. We have very interesting people that have lived here all their lives and some who are newer to town. There is always so much to learn from all of these people.   

The wonderful small town feel is my favorite part of Weston. 

Favorite Spot in Weston?

The Weston Town Center is my favorite spot. Seeing everyone coming and going in the Town Center, at Peter's, Fairfield County Bank, the Lunch Box and Camelot Real Estate is great and fun to catch up with everyone.
