Guerin, who is is ranked second in the 16-and-under age group in New England, will take a break from high school competition to participate in a super-national tournament April 11-17 in California.

“I have a lot of drive for the sport,” said Guerin, who boasts a career mark of 63-14. “I’m just trying to accomplish big things."

While she's not sure yet about a professional career, Guerin does plan to play in college, and Division I schools Boston College, Duke, Georgetown and Notre Dame are among those at the top of her list. The recruiting process will begin next fall, when Guerin begins her junior year at Weston.

In the meantime, Guerin is focused on improving her game and leading the Trojans to a fifth Class S state title.

“She’s a large part of this team,” said first-year varsity head coach Tor Terranova, who takes over for six-year Weston mentor Mary Anne Vorvis after previously serving as  a volunteer coach for the Trojans.
