A 64-year-old Redding woman reportedly had $300 charged to her PayPal account after an unknown person opened an account under her maiden name and used the “Bill me Later” option, police said. Several similar incidents have occurred in the past few months, according to police.

A Ford Explorer read-ended a Chevy Equinox at 9 a.m. on August 2, sending the Equinox driver to the hospital for minor cuts on her face, according to the Redding Police Department.

Police said that Explorer, driven by John Skehan, 50, of Field Street in Norwalk, had been travelling on a winding part of US 107 northbound when it collided with the Equinox, which was stopped near the construction zone near Portland Avenue. Skehan was given a written warning for following too close, police said.

The driver of the Equinox, Karyn Czarnecki, 40, from Wilton, was transported to Norwalk Hospital, police said. The Equinox was towed from the scene.

Damage to car at train station

Police received a complaint from a Jeep owner that someone damaged the soft top of the Jeep, which was left at the Long Ridge Road Train Station overnight on August 2.
